GS-07:
The incumbent serves in a developmental capacity at the GS-07 level. Key functions will be similar to those described at the full performance level of the target position. However, during the developmental assignment, full performance range and level of selected functions will not be completely delegated to the employee until proper orientation and training have been completed and the incumbent has demonstrated the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to accomplish the work at the full performance level. However, during the developmental assignment, full performance range and level of selected functions may not be completely delegated to the employee until the incumbent has demonstrated the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to accomplish the work at the full performance level. As a classification specialist, provides position classification and position management support to the agency's human resources offices which service positions in professional, scientific, research, development, administrative, technical and other fields including those affected by new or emerging technology, and where the organizations serviced are complex, new or dynamic. Other duties regularly require cross- reference to one or more related guides or standards, and interpretation of conflicting guides or new standards.Provides complete classification management advisory services for VISN 22 facilities that contain a variety of different types of positions, including numerous complex and dynamic professional positions. The work consists of resolving classification problems and issues that often involve conflicting or incomplete information; applying analytical techniques that frequently requiremodification to accommodate a wide range of variables; and addressing substantive technicalissues or problems characterized by complex, controversial, and/or sensitive matters that containseveral interrelated issues.Provides HR, managers and employees with information and interpretations of the organization's HR (Classification) policies, procedures and guidelines, when the issues addressed require substantial interpretation, there is potential for controversy or the issue involves more than one area of HR policy. Creates and conducts or assist with training programs. Provides technical advisory classifications for subordinate organizations and/or classifies high grade or politically sensitive jobs, including the most complex work situations and occupations in the network facilities. Ensures all applicable documentation is obtained. Determines the state of regulatory compliance, classification accuracy, and other classification program requirements for subordinate HR offices within the Network. Independently or with assistance (depending on grade level) resolves difficult issues and problems requiring consideration of the total HR management program. Promotion Potential:
This position is a career ladder opportunity and has know promotion potential. The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
