Program Support Assistant (Caregiver Support Program CET)

As a Program Support Assistant for the Centralized Eligibility Team (CET), you will work collaboratively as a member of an interprofessional clinical team that reviews Veteran and caregiver application packages for the Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC). The CET is responsible for reviewing complex PCAFC eligibility cases for admission, ongoing level of care adjustments, and discharge appropriateness. The CET is also responsible for adjudicating PCAFC applicant and participant first and second-level appeals. You will perform duties necessary for the receipt, intake, and indexing of health and administrative information related to the PCAFC. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Providing operational support to the CET members and perform the full range of clerical, business, and administrative duties. Handling numerous requests for information such as status or reports, suspense dates, etc. for matters requiring compliance and similar information on behalf of the CET. Ensuring accurate, timely, and consistent entry of information into appropriate databases. Assisting the team to ensure the secure transmission and receipt of documents needed to make eligibility, tier level, discharge, and appeal determinations for the PCAFC comply with VHA privacy rules. Serving as the timekeeper for the CET. Collecting and categorizing all personnel workload and fiscal reports, as required by the program and as directed by your supervisor. Compiling and preparing program productivity/workload reports, and consolidating daily employee reports into CET monthly and quarterly reports. Analyzing individual and consolidated workload data reports, preparing instruction to implement changes as needed, and reporting trends to the team leader. Using word processing software, and designing and preparing detailed charts and graphs for use in presentations based on workload data. Initiating and coordinating client records to determine eligibility, interviewing clients to obtain required information, and reviewing client records for accuracy and completeness. Using knowledge of medical terminology and usages (e.g., medicine, surgical, geriatrics, hospital terms, medical abstracts, nursing, social work, pharmacology, aging, and home health), spelling, grammar, abbreviations, composition, and determining/following required formats for VA memos and reports. Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
